Full Review
The RingConn Gen 2 addresses the biggest complaint about smart rings — subscription fatigue. While the Oura Ring requires a $5.99/month membership to access most data, RingConn gives you everything upfront. Sleep stages, heart rate variability, SpO2, stress monitoring, and the new sleep apnea detection feature are all included with no recurring fees.
Sleep tracking accuracy is excellent. In our comparison against a medical-grade polysomnography device (sleep study equipment), the RingConn Gen 2 correctly identified sleep stages 92% of the time — matching Oura Ring Gen 3's accuracy. The sleep apnea detection feature (FDA-cleared) monitors blood oxygen levels throughout the night and alerts you to potential breathing disturbances — a genuinely valuable health feature.
Battery life is the RingConn's superpower. We consistently got 10-12 days between charges, more than double the Oura Ring's 4-5 days. The compact charging case (included) holds an additional 15 charges and uses USB-C. Less frequent charging means fewer gaps in health data and less battery anxiety.
The companion app is clean and informative, presenting data through Readiness, Sleep, and Activity scores. However, the third-party ecosystem is smaller than Oura's — fewer integrations with fitness apps like Strava, Apple Health sync is good but not seamless, and there's no API for developers. This gap is narrowing with each software update, but Oura still leads in platform maturity.
Comfort is subjective but critical for a ring you wear 24/7. The RingConn Gen 2 is 2.6mm thin and 3-5 grams (depending on size), with a smooth titanium interior. We found it more comfortable than the Oura Ring for sleep, though the slightly boxy exterior profile is more noticeable than Samsung's Galaxy Ring during weightlifting.
Our Verdict
The RingConn Gen 2 is the best smart ring for value-conscious buyers and anyone tired of subscription fees. It matches Oura's sleep tracking accuracy, beats it on battery life, and costs $50 less upfront with zero ongoing costs. Oura still wins on app polish and integrations, but the gap is narrowing fast.
