The Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra represents the pinnacle of robot vacuum technology in 2026. With 10,000 Pa of suction power, it easily handles everything from fine dust on hardwood to embedded pet hair in deep-pile carpet. The dual rubber brush system resists tangling — we ran it daily for a month in a home with two long-haired dogs, and the brushes remained virtually hair-free.
Navigation is where the S8 MaxV Ultra truly outshines its competitors. The Reactive AI 2.0 system uses a combination of LiDAR, structured light 3D scanning, and an RGB camera to identify and navigate around over 60 different object types — from cables and socks to pet waste. In our testing, it successfully avoided 47 out of 50 deliberately placed obstacles.
The mopping system has been significantly upgraded. The VibraRise 3.0 technology scrubs floors at 4,000 times per minute and automatically lifts the mop pads by 20mm when carpet is detected, preventing wet carpets. The dock washes the mop pads with hot water, then dries them with warm air to prevent odors.
